We’re looking for a Senior Marketing Specialist, Events & Activations to lead the planning and delivery of Vancity’s most visible, high impact events and community activations. You will translate brand and community priorities into memorable, values aligned experiences, elevating how Vancity shows up at marquee moments, partnerships, and local activations. You’ll partner closely across Marketing, Brand, Branches, Partnerships, and Creative Services to ensure every detail reflects Vancity’s values and strengthens community connection.
This is a fulltime role with hybrid flexibility, primarily based at Vancity’s head office. You will be required to attend the events and activations you lead across the province, with travel required to Toronto from time to time. These events may take place on weekends or evenings.

- Ensuring brand-aligned experiences across all touchpoints (collateral, signage, staffing, merchandise), in partnership with Creative Services, so our presence is consistent, accessible, and values driven.
- Supporting sponsorship activations with key community partners, adapting playbooks to each partner’s audience and goals while safeguarding Vancity’s brand and community impact.
- Collaborating with Branch teams on activation toolkits and scalable templates that branches can deploy confidently.
- Managing budgets, contracts, risk logs, permits/insurance, safety and accessibility requirements, and reconciliation.
- Setting KPI frameworks (e.g., attendance, engagement, lead capture, brand lift), producing impact reports and debriefs, and codifying learnings into future playbooks.
- Coaching and directing coordinators, vendors, and brand ambassadors to deliver polished, high‑impact on‑site experiences.
- Coordinating with Social Media to capture and amplify live event content and member stories across channels.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- 5–7+ years of experience in experiential marketing, community engagement, events, partnerships, or related fields, with a track record of delivering complex, high‑visibility events.
- Demonstrated strength in event strategy, production, and vendor management, including run‑of‑show leadership and on‑site problem solving.
- Experience building activation strategies, playbooks and scalable templates; familiarity with collateral, signage, and merchandise planning.
- Proficiency with digital tools for project tracking, communication, budgeting, and reporting; data‑informed approach to measuring impact.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to align cross‑functional teams toward clear objectives and quality standards.
- Working knowledge of accessibility and inclusive event practices, sustainability considerations, and community‑first engagement.
You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:
- A strategic thinker and hands-on experience designer who can connect brand values to powerful community moments.
- A clear, confident communicator and relationship builder who represents Vancity with care and credibility.
- Calm under pressure, solutions‑oriented, and energized by turning complexity into organized, repeatable excellence.
- Adaptable, curious, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast‑moving, mission‑driven environment.
