Job Summary:
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring electronic components, PCBs, semiconductors, and related materials required for production. This role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards and supporting production schedules in a fast-paced electronics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and qualify suppliers for electronic components, PCBs, connectors, and assemblies.
- Request and analyze quotes, negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to optimize cost and availability.
- Create and process purchase orders in ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Track order status and expedite deliveries to meet production deadlines.
- Maintain strong relationships with component distributors and OEMs.
- Resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or invoicing promptly.
- Monitor market trends for electronic components and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH, and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production planners and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid shortages.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and prepare reports on spend, supplier performance, and lead time trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Electronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years in purchasing or procurement, preferably in electronics manufacturing or EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
