Position Overview

The Business Systems Analyst reports to the VP of IT, Data, and Cybersecurity and serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT. This role is responsible for gathering, defining, and documenting business requirements for data, analytics, and AI-related initiatives, ensuring technology solutions meet business needs. The Business Systems Analyst manages user acceptance testing (UAT), supports project management activities, develops training materials, and trains business users on newly released systems and enhancements.

Responsibilities

Business & Systems Analysis

• Act as the primary point of contact between business and IT for assigned initiatives.
• Meet with business stakeholders to understand business processes, objectives, and pain points.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and system requirements.
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable requirements for IT and data teams.
• Maintain requirements documentation, traceability, and change control throughout the project lifecycle.

UAT

• Plan, coordinate, and manage UAT activities with business stakeholders.
• Develop UAT test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Track, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of defects with IT team.
• Obtain formal business approval prior to production release.

Training & Change Enablement

• Develop training materials, job aids, and process documentation for new systems and enhancements.
• Deliver training sessions to business users and provide post-implementation support.
•  Promote user adoption and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Project Management Support

• Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities.
• Track tasks, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Communicate project status, timelines, and impacts to stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role.
• Proven experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
• Experience working with IT teams on technology-driven or data-related projects.
• Intermediate Excel skills: advanced formulas, charts and graphs, and pivot tables.
• Hands-on experience planning and executing UAT.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Exposure to project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience creating and delivering end-user training. 
• Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) - preferred
• Project Management certifications (PMP or equivalent) - preferred
