Description
We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Organisation Team and provide hands-on legal support across contracts, governance, and corporate secretariat activities. This role is ideal for a pragmatic legal professional who enjoys structured work, clear frameworks, and close collaboration with business teams in a regulated environment.
We invite you to:
- Provide legal support and practical recommendations to Executive Management and internal teams within an agreed scope, escalating complex or high-risk matters when needed
- Review and draft contracts (vendor, commercial, service agreements)
- Identify deviations from standard terms, flag risks, and propose workable, business-oriented edits (not just “no”)
- Support contract lifecycle management, including:
- Deliver corporate secretariat activities for the Board and Supervisory Council:
- Support governance documentation, corporate registrations, and corporate projects under guidance
- Coordinate with Second Line teams to support compliance-by-design initiatives, including tracking regulatory commitments and preparing draft internal notes or correspondence for review
We expect you to have:
- A law degree or equivalent legal education
- 2–4 years of experience in contract support, contract review, or drafting
- Experience or exposure to corporate governance and/or a regulated environment (financial sector is a plus, not a must)
- The ability to work confidently in a regulated environment with strong attention to detail and process discipline
- Excellent professional communication skills, including clear written advice and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams
- Solid contract review and drafting fundamentals: ability to spot risks, assess fees and key terms, propose practical edits, and know when to escalate
- Clear, structured written communication: concise, actionable advice with options and a recommendation
- Strong process discipline: document management, version control, evidence trails, and confidentiality
- Regulatory and outsourcing literacy in an EMI or financial services environment
- Translating regulatory expectations into contract and process requirements in collaboration with Second Line and internal standards
- A pragmatic mindset: you can balance risk, speed, and business needs
