Job Summary:

The Senior Associate in the Payroll Compliance Department is responsible for analyzing and reviewing payroll, tax, and personnel records to determine employer compliance with collective bargaining agreements, 401(k) and profit sharing plans.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ascertain compliance with agreements with respect to complex contractual obligations made by employers. 
  • Evaluate and determine compliance standards to provide accurate audit reports. 
  • Gather payroll data from employers; review and analyze data to provide audit reports and other assessments for payroll clients.
  • Perform first-level review of completed audits.
  • Prepare quarterly status reports for clients.
  • Provide detailed analysis of findings and coordinate all analytical and technical research tasks.
  • Provide guidance to and train associates.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Work closely with clients, managers, and partners to deliver the highest level of payroll compliance reporting and consulting services.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Associate degree in related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
  • Prior payroll compliance audit work experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with people at all levels of the organization. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess strong prioritization skills and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

  • Understanding of payroll including pension, health, and welfare contributions. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Travel requirements: Travel up to 70% of the time
