The Opportunity

 

As a software development team, we are part of the Open Banking Department in equensWorldline.

The department is responsible for the strategic development of products and projects for cardless payment processing. This includes e.g. iDEAL payment in the Netherlands, Wero, bank-supported identity checks (Verification of Payee), Open Banking APIs according to the PSD2 directive, and electronic direct debit mandates.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

• Oversee product development throughout its lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.
• Manage the product backlog, prioritize features and enhancements, and ensure a clear, actionable roadmap.
• Design, refine and document the end-to-end solution across application landscape, including business and IT requirements. 
• Work within one of our scrum squads that are fully responsible for their applications from code to production (DevOps).
• Plan the squad’s activities and manage different deadlines, project and release timelines.
• Take ownership and end-to-end responsibility for the squad’s applications.
• Address any challenges that arise during the implementation of new features.
• Strongly collaborate with squad members and continuously align with various stakeholders (product managers, lead developers, project leads, scrum masters, other product owners) to ensure your squad delivers robust, highly available, and performant software on time and within budget.
• Support various stakeholders by troubleshooting and resolving any issues occurring in production, ensuring constant system improvement.

 

Who Are We Looking For

 

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up and show what’s next – people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice this means:

• Higher degree in IT, Management, or related fields.
• Relevant working experience (at least 3 years) as a Product Owner or Project Manager in an Agile environment.
• Eagerness to take application ownership and embrace responsibilities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and meet customer needs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of the payment business is advantageous.
• Experience in working in international and cross-functional teams is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based applications and knowledge of Java technology is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1)
