As ourfirst dedicated DevOps specialist, you will be instrumental in shaping HALO’s DevOpslandscape from the ground up. You will architect and refine our monitoring and alerting strategies to achieve 99.99% uptime, guide our migration towards Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and CDK, and support the transition from Docker-based deployments into an ECS based environment. In addition, you’ll assist in our phased transformation from a monolithic architecture to an event-driven microservices ecosystem, ensuring our CI/CD pipelines incorporate advanced security and quality checks to support efficient, secure, and scalable software delivery.

Day to Day
- Enhance and manage CI/CD pipelines, integrating sophisticated security and quality gates to facilitate reliable continuous delivery at scale.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure we meet and exceed 99.99% uptime targets.
- Utilize AWS services and IaC tools, including AWS CDK, to build and maintain scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure.
- Lead the migration of containerized applications to ECS, enabling dynamic scaling, improved resilience, and more efficient resource utilization.
- Collaborate on the phased strangulation of a monolith into an event-driven microservice architecture, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime.
- Integrate advanced security reviews and compliance checks into pipelines to safeguard applications and data.
- Develop automation scripts and tooling to streamline operational tasks, reduce manual overhead, and enhance system performance.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues and work closely with product, development, and support teams to maintain a seamless, efficient workflow.
About You
- Extensive experience with AWS services, cloud-based architectures, and IaC approaches (e.g. CDK written in Typescript).
- A proactive approach to automation, with strong scripting capabilities for infrastructure and operations.
- Deep understanding of security best practices in DevOps and cloud environments, with a proven record of integrating security into pipelines and deployments.
- Solid background in Docker, ECS, and modern container orchestration solutions.
- Familiarity with event-driven, microservices-based architectures, and the ability to support architectural transformations from monolith to microservices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a passion for resolving issues efficiently to maintain system health and performance.
- Effective communicator and mentor, comfortable collaborating in cross-functional teams and guiding junior engineers.
- A continuous improvement mindset, thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, development tools (Git, Bitbucket, JIRA), and methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation and configuration management tools, with bonus points for experience working with AI infrastructure
