Position Overview

At Autodesk, we do what no other company on the planet can: provide our customers the technology to Make Anything. As we invest deeply in customer experience, insight-driven product development, and innovation, we need exceptional program leaders who can bring clarity, continuity, and integration to complex, experience-centered initiatives. We are seeking a Principal Program Manager to join the AEC Experience & Analytics organization. This role is critical to ensuring that experience vision, user data & insights, as well as cross-functional execution remain tightly connected as programs evolve. You will serve as an integrative force across one or more large programs focused on experience design, design systems, research, and/or product operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Design Operations, you will play a central role in maintaining alignment, operational clarity, and momentum across experience initiatives within AEC and across Autodesk.

This position requires location in Canada. Open to hybrid/remote from one of our offices in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal or those remote PT to ET zone in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Drive program strategy and cross-functional execution for complex, experience-centered initiatives, partnering across Design, Research, Product, Engineering, and Analytics to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes

  • Establish, refine, and model effective operating rhythms, standards, and best practices that support experience, research, and design work without over-processing

  • Serve as the integrative layer across disciplines, ensuring work is aligned, sequenced, and informed as programs evolve

  • Translate ambiguous goals, evolving scope, and diverse inputs into clear program structures, priorities, success measures, and decision frameworks

  • Accountable for cross-program integration and visibility, actively identifying interdependencies, risks, and gaps across workstreams and escalating issues to the appropriate leaders with clear options and trade-offs

  • Enable effective decision-making by synthesizing complex information into executive-ready recommendations that support alignment and momentum

  • Partner with senior leaders to maintain clarity on goals, progress, and readiness

  • Drive continuous improvement in program management approaches, tools, and ways of working to strengthen Autodesk’s ability to deliver integrated, insight-driven experiences at scale

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, design operations, product operations, or experience-focused transformation roles

  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-team programs in environments spanning design, research, and product development

  • Strong ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse senior stakeholders

  • Deep understanding of experience and research workflows, including qualitative insight, synthesis, testing, and critical user journeys

  • Demonstrated operational excellence, with the ability to create clarity without unnecessary process

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience translating complexity into actionable plans and executive-ready updates

  • Familiarity with and comfort leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools and workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has deep experience enabling complex experience-centered initiatives at scale

  • Operates with a low-ego, high-impact mindset; measures success by how effectively others can deliver

  • Thrives in ambiguity and can structure evolving problems without over-constraining creative or exploratory work

  • Sees experience work as an integrated system, not a set of disconnected activities

  • Skilled at translating insight into coordinated action across multiple teams

  • Comfortable managing external partners, production timelines, and evolving scopes of work

  • Brings clarity and continuity to fast-moving, uncertain environments
