Main Purpose

This role provides exposure to a wide range of accounting, tax, and operational processes within the energy trading business, as well as opportunities to collaborate with other business units at an international level. The position requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields; certified accountant is preferred.

  • Strong academic and technical background.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Reporting and/or Tax areas, preferably in multinational companies or the energy/commodities sector.

  • Previous experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.

  • Solid knowledge of Brazilian tax and accounting regulations; familiarity with IFRS standards.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to operate in international and multicultural contexts.

  • Advanced to fluent English; Spanish is considered a strong asset.

  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

  • Operational, tax and regulatory knowledge of the free energy market is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee tax and accounting processes, review of direct/indirect taxes, statutory reporting, and compliance with local and international standards.

  • Revise accounting entries, GL reconciliations and intercompany reporting.

  • Support monthly and annual closings, as well as external and internal audits.

  • Ensure accurate accounting of contracts, financing, intercompany/intracompany transactions, and projects.

  • Maintain and monitor fixed asset registers, ensuring compliance with corporate depreciation and accounting policies.

  • Support local and international teams (accounting, procurement, tax, treasury, legal, and operations) to ensure alignment across business units.

  • Monitor and interpret regulatory and tax changes, assessing their impact on the energy trading business.

  • Support back-office operations in the energy market, including registration and settlement processes with the relevant regulatory entities.
