Your Role
As a WBS Controller, you are responsible for managing the financial and administrative aspects of projects within the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). You work closely with project managers, job owners, and the FP&A team to ensure projects are set up, monitored, and reported correctly within SAP.
You act as the central point of contact for all matters related to project budgets, cost structures, progress reporting, and master data in the SAP Project System (PS).
What You Will Do
Project Costing & Budgeting
- Allocate costs to specific WBS elements
- Monitor planned versus actual costs
- Manage budgets and budget availability
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track progress of tasks within the WBS
- Report on project milestones and financial performance
- Prepare clear and reliable project performance reports
Master Data & Financial Integration
- Maintain WBS master data (cost centers, profit centers, plants, statuses)
- Capture and link financial and procurement transactions to the correct WBS elements
Operational Support
- Manage sales order intake (WBS): entry of materials, equipment, labor, billing plans, etc.
- Prepare invoicing and shipping documents related to service activities or as backup for Sales
How You Work in SAP
In this role, you work extensively with the SAP Project System (PS) and contribute to efficient and accurate project setup. You will:
- Collaborate with project planners to define the WBS structure
- Set up organizational assignments and account assignments
- Allocate budgets and monitor project spending
- Assign financial postings (invoices, purchases, expenses) to the correct WBS elements
- Use SAP PS to analyze project results and ensure objectives are met
Who You Are
- Experienced with SAP, preferably within PS/CO
- Analytical, structured, and detail‑oriented
- Comfortable communicating with stakeholders across different departments
- Familiar with project administration, finance, or controlling
- Skilled at maintaining oversight in a dynamic environment
