The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne (CAM) is seeking a skilled Finance Business Partner to join our collaborative finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting CAM’s mission-driven work across diverse service areas.

About the Role

Working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant, the Finance Business Partner is responsible for delivering high quality financial planning, reporting, and analysis across all CAM-managed entities. In this role the successful candidate will translate complex data into clear, actionable advice that supports informed decision making at every level.

You will foster trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring financial information is timely, accurate, and aligned with CAM’s strategic objectives, regulatory obligations, and funding requirements.

What you will do

  • Lead and coordinate departmental budget development, forecasting, and financial monitoring processes.
  • Provide insightful monthly reporting, analysis, and dashboards to senior leaders, governance committees, and operational teams.
  • Partner with business areas to analyse financial performance, revenue streams, cost drivers, and program sustainability.
  • Support scenario modelling, investment appraisal, and business case development to guide strategic and capital decisions.
  • Identify financial risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives, enhancing long-term financial sustainability.
  • Build financial capability across the organisation through coaching and clear, practical financial guidance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in budgeting, reporting, and financial management processes.
  • Provide support for month‑end processes and ad hoc financial analysis as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent experience in a similar FP&A or business partnering role).
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis within a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to influence decisions through clear financial insight and strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
