  • Take full ownership of the distributor claims validation process within a complex business model.

  • Review, validate, and assess incoming distributor claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual and accounting requirements.

  • Apply sound accounting and reporting principles to determine and book appropriate accruals.

  • Continuously monitor claims versus accruals, investigate variances, and ensure timely true-ups.

  • Act as the primary point of accountability for all distributor claims, providing clear and timely updates to both finance and the wider business.

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external distributors, taking initiative to resolve issues based on information obtained.

  • Identify weaknesses in the current claims process and proactively drive improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal control requirements in daily operations.

  • Provide audit support by gathering documentation and supporting GICFR testing.

  • Contribute to the preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.

Payments & Reporting Support

  • Review statements of account (SOAs) and validate payment runs for accuracy and completeness prior to release.

  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain data required for financial reporting and analysis.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and ways of working, and support implementation of enhancements.

  • Work effectively with offshore/shared service teams, including providing guidance, training, and oversight where required.

  • Integrate seamlessly into the local finance team, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Actively seek clarification and guidance when needed, demonstrating ownership and accountability for outcomes.

Development

  • Participate in training and development activities to continuously enhance accounting, reporting, and business knowledge.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field.

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.

  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles (IFRS knowledge strongly preferred).

  • 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience in a corporate, multinational, or audit environment.

  • Experience dealing with distributor, rebate, claims, or accrual-based business models is highly desirable.

  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

  • Proven experience managing complex accounting processes end-to-end, with a high level of ownership and accountability.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps, propose improvements, and support implementation of more efficient and controlled ways of working.

  • Experience working cross-functionally and communicating effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
