As a Coordinator, Communication & UX/UI Design will play a central role in shaping the digital experience and visual identity of the Alectra Green Energy & Technology (GRE&T) Centre, Alectra’s innovation hub. Reporting to the Lead, Communication & Design Thinking, this position will play an important role in communications, administrative functions, and employee engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment between design, operations, and the GRE&T Centre’s innovation goals. This position also undertakes the responsibility to design intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging user interfaces and experiences for digital platforms and applications.


What you’ll do

• Design of user interfaces (wireframes, prototypes) and user experiences for web and mobile applications, ensuring usability, accessibility, and scalability.
• Design and deliver graphics, infographics, icons, and digital assets for internal and external audiences.
• Create high-quality presentation designs (PowerPoint, pitch decks, reports) to support leadership, communications, and project teams.
• Support the creation of marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, posters, and event materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to maintain visual consistency across all GRE&T materials.
• Manage a content calendar to support the development and delivery of the GRE&T Centre’s online presence (website, social media) and thought leadership initiatives in collaboration with the Alectra Corporate Communications team.
• Assist in drafting and editing content for newsletters, announcements, social media, and employee engagement campaigns.
• Design supporting visuals for thought leadership initiatives such as case studies, whitepapers, and events.
• Partner with Corporate Communications on campaigns and external outreach, ensuring brand alignment.
• Provide design and visual storytelling support for webinars, conferences, and industry events.


• Draft, edit and proofread articles, whitepapers, case studies, and other content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
• Maintain GRE&T Centre shared resources such as SharePoint directories and inbox management.
• Assist in coordinating department meetings, workshops, and engagement activities, including preparation of agendas, notes, and presentations.
• Track project timelines, maintain design documentation, and support reporting requirements.
• Provide general administrative assistance to ensure smooth daily operations.

Who you are


Education & Specialized Knowledge
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and foresight in design.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and prototyping tools.
• Strong writing and communication skills to complement design work.

Experience
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, digital communications, or branding.
• Demonstrated portfolio showcasing user experience design, interface design, and digital assets.
• Experience supporting communications and engagement initiatives in a corporate or innovation-driven environment is an advantage.

• Hybrid: This role is based in a hybrid environment, allowing for a mix of remote and in-office work to support team collaboration and business needs.

Compensation
At Alectra, Compensation for non-union positions is determined within a defined salary range for each role. Placement within the salary range depends on several factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements. We consider internal equity and market competitiveness to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization
