Job Description
Technical Leadership
Own system architecture definition for Consumer products across NVMe, PCIe, SD/mSD, and embedded storage segments.
- Drive requirements engineering, system-level modeling, performance analysis, and end-to-end system bring-up.
Guide teams on FW/HW/system integration, debug strategies, power/performance optimization, and reliability improvements.
- Provide technical direction on NAND management, protocol compliance, controller architecture interactions, and system bottleneck resolution.
- Review and approve system design documents, technical specifications, risk mitigation plans, and design validation strategies.
2. People & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing systems engineering team (managers, architects, senior/principal engineers).
- Drive hiring, talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Enable teams with clear expectations, feedback mechanisms, coaching, and autonomy to deliver.
3. Program & Execution Ownership
- Own system deliverables across the product lifecycle: concept → architecture → development → validation → mass production.
- Collaborate closely with FW, HW, ASIC, Validation, Product Management, Customer Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams.
- Drive issue resolution and root-cause analysis for complex system-level problems.
- Ensure on-time, high-quality releases aligned with product roadmap goals.
- Manage risk escalation, cross-functional alignment, and decision-making.
4. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Interface with key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to define requirements and align product expectations.
- Represent systems engineering in executive reviews, product readiness meetings, and technical deep-dive sessions.
- Provide technical leadership for customer escalations and critical-program engagements.
5. Process, Tools & Innovation
- Drive improvements in system design methodology, validation frameworks, automation workflows, and debug tools.
- Champion system maturity metrics, quality KPIs, and engineering best practices.
- Encourage IP generation, patent submissions, and technology acceleration initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
15+ years of relevant experience in SSD/Storage, embedded systems, or complex semiconductor product development.
- Strong understanding of:
- NVMe / PCIe / SATA / UFS / SD protocols
- NAND flash media management concepts
- Firmware–hardware co-design
- System performance analysis tools and methodologies
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering multiple product generations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale systems organizations in storage or semiconductor domain.
Prior ownership of system definition for high-volume NVME products.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and cross-functional communication skills
- Understanding of compliance, certification, and interoperability ecosystems.
