Kitron is currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer based in Chennai, India, who will play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of our programs and an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of Automation.
Job Description:
Develop and modify electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for automation and special-purpose machines.
Design control panels and independently select standard electrical components based on project requirements.
Prepare panel layouts, cable schedules, I/O lists, and power distribution drawings.
Work closely with PLC and controls engineers to support control architecture and IO mapping.
Support panel wiring, internal testing, and troubleshooting during build and integration stages.
Assist in machine installation, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities at customer or site locations.
Identify and resolve electrical issues related to wiring, components, and signal interfacing.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, machine safety requirements, and documentation norms.
Prepare and maintain electrical BOMs, drawings, and revision control as per ISO processes.
Coordinate with procurement, vendors, and panel builders for component sourcing and clarifications.
Requirements:
B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical / E&I Engineering.
2–3 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation or machine building.
Working experience with EPLAN.
Strong knowledge of sensors, relays, VFDs, MCCBs, contactors, SMPS, and control components.
Basic understanding of PLC hardware, industrial controls, and IO interfacing.
Ability to read, execute, and troubleshoot electrical drawings on the shop floor.
Hands-on, execution-focused mindset with good problem-solving skills.
