JOB SUMMARY:
As a Confectioner, you will craft a variety of high-quality fudge and specialty candies in a banquet kitchen setting, ensuring consistency, creativity, and cleanliness in all production processes. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for both culinary artistry and engaging with guests. You will also assist with merchandising, inventory management, and maintaining a welcoming and visually appealing candy display.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and present a variety of confectionery items daily, develop new items based on trends, and build business drivers
Ensure all recipes are followed precisely, maintaining consistent quality, taste, and presentation
Monitor ingredient levels, manage inventory orders, and verify the quality and quantity of received supplies
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Ensure all equipment is operational and coordinate cleaning and maintenance with kitchen stewards
Calibrate pH meters, thermostats, and other tools as needed to ensure product consistency and safety
Train and mentor Team Members in confectionery production techniques and safety standards
Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team for technical support and participate in team projects and initiatives
Provide personalized, high-quality service to guests by anticipating needs, using guest names, and responding to inquiries about candy and retail items
Promote Caesars Rewards and other loyalty programs to enhance the guest experience
Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately, process various transaction types, and reconcile the bank at the end of each shift
Maintain visual presentation standards in the retail area and the Sweet Stop
Restock merchandise and ensure the cleanliness and organization of displays and prep areas
Prepare sample stations and ensure proper cleanup after each event
Invoke service recovery procedures as per company policy to resolve guest concerns
Perform additional duties as assigned by shift leaders or management
Adhere to internal control regulations, sanitation laws, health codes, and company policies, including appearance and attendance standards
Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or GED is required
A minimum of six (6) months of hands-on experience producing chocolate confections, fudge, or candies, or current enrollment in a certified pastry or baking program is required
Six (6) months of retail sales experience is preferred
Six (6) months of candy-making experience is preferred
ServSafe certification is required*
*Can be completed within ninety (90) days of hire
Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food preparation and presentation
Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, as well as strong communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent documented leadership and motivational skills
Knowledge of sanitation standards and procedures
Able to quickly perform mathematical computations
Problem-solving abilities
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry 10 pounds
Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at the assigned desk area
Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a calculator, computer, fax machine, and photocopier
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
Must be able to stand on feet for eight eight-hour shifts
Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smoke
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
