The Opportunity
Downer’s Energy & Utilities business has opportunities for Painter Blaster’s to join us for a shutdown in Port Hedland, WA. This role will see you responsible for preparing and protecting steel structures, piping, and fixed plant equipment through abrasive blasting and the application of protective coatings. This includes tasks such as grit or sandblasting to remove rust, scale, or old coatings, followed by applying primers and industrial-grade paint systems to meet corrosion protection standards. To be successful in this role you will need to available from 25th February for inductions, picking up PPE and onboarding. Successful candidates will also join our talent pools to be used in future works across remote and regional WA.

About You

• Trade Certificate – Highly desirable
• Construction Induction / White Card
• Gas Test Atmospheres, Working at Heights, and Enter and Work in Confined Spaces within 5 years
• Fire Certificate within 5 years
• MSIC – Highly desirable
• Prior experience in a FIFO role performing Painter Blaster duties
