Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead the financial management of our infrastructure and road construction projects. This role is critical in driving financial planning, project cost control, reporting, and compliance, while supporting both operational execution and strategic decision-making.
Proven experience in large-scale road works, highways, and public-sector infrastructure projects is essential.
Key Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the Finance Manager include, but are not limited to:
Project Financial Management
Develop, monitor, and control project-specific budgets for road and infrastructure projects
Track project costs, commitments, variations, and cost-to-complete on a real-time basis
Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and project cash flow projections
Ensure accurate cost allocation for materials, labor, plant, and equipment
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes
Prepare detailed financial forecasts aligned with project schedules and milestones
Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to mitigate cost overruns
Contract & Payment Oversight
Oversee payment certifications, subcontractor billing, and client invoicing, including Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs)
Ensure complete and accurate financial documentation for variations, claims, and change orders
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure full compliance with IFRS, internal financial policies, and industry regulations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and stakeholders
Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
MBA, CPA, or CA qualification is highly preferred
5–10 years of financial management experience within infrastructure or road construction projects
Strong expertise in BOQ-based costing and public infrastructure project accounting
Experience with government-funded or PPP projects is highly desirable
Proficiency in ERP and financial systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage 300, or similar)
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
In-depth understanding of construction cost control and project accounting
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
High level of accuracy, integrity, and commercial awareness
