About this role

Our goal is to ensure that the reliability of our services and every interaction with us is always top‑notch. To achieve this, we need your expertise. We are now looking for a System Product Owner to join our Non-life Insurance Systems team at OP Pohjola.

What is this about?

As a System Product Owner, you will be responsible for the service management processes of OP Pohjola’s Non-life Insurance application landscape, as well as the reliability, quality, and smooth operation of the systems. You will handle incident communication within your area and participate in the technical investigation and resolution of system disturbances in collaboration with our internal teams and suppliers.

We are currently renewing our core systems, giving you the opportunity to take part in building future insurance technologies with lifecycles lasting decades.

We maintain applications in close collaboration with experts from our partner network, so supplier management and cooperation in a multi-vendor environment will be a key part of your role. You will ensure that maintenance services are delivered according to agreed contracts and will also participate in procurement and cost management.

In the spirit of continuous improvement and incident prevention, you will identify development needs together with other professionals in your area and drive these initiatives forward. Your role also includes reporting on service production quality and cost efficiency to relevant stakeholders.

You will be surrounded by a network of fellow System Product Owners who provide day-to-day support and opportunities to deepen your expertise. Our team includes both seasoned experts and professionals early in their careers.

The position is based in Helsinki or Oulu, based on your preference. We combine on-site and remote work flexibly in our daily routines.

What are we looking for?

Here’s a summary of the competencies we’re looking for — and the areas you will have the opportunity to work with:

  • Experience in applying DevOps principles
  • Strong background in ITIL, support models, maintenance operations, and service delivery
  • Familiarity with supplier collaboration, process management, and contract oversight
  • Understanding of insurance business and processes
  • Strong technical skillset that you have actively used in your work
  • Technical expertise that enables you to manage the technologies and solutions within your application domain and understand technical decisions impacting application lifecycle management
  • Experience with the SIAM model
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure, Guidewire) is considered an advantage

In addition to these, you are able to manage large entities, take a systematic approach to challenges, and work independently in a networked environment. Proficiency in English is essential in our international setting and Finnish is seen as a plus.

Why OP Pohjola?
