About the Role

This is a full-time contract position (35 hours per week) with a minimum term of 12 weeks and the possibility of extension up to 35 weeks, depending on program requirements and business needs.

As a Human Resources student, you will gain exposure to a broad range of HR activities while contributing to meaningful projects that support employees and the organization. You will be paired with a mentor who will coordinate assignments, provide guidance, and offer ongoing feedback throughout your work term.

What You’ll Learn & Contribute

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support the Human Resources team with a variety of administrative and coordination activities
  • Assist with employee wellness and engagement initiatives, including recognition programming and monthly wellness calendars
  • Gain hands-on exposure to the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, references, onboarding, and new-hire documentation — all while helping ensure a positive candidate experience
  • Support records management and documentation initiatives within the HR department
  • Research and recommend ways to apply the National Standard on Psychological Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Conduct research on artificial intelligence (AI) applications in HR, with a focus on recruitment, administration, and training
  • Draft professional letters, internal communications, how-to guides, and presentation materials
  • Assist with planning and coordinating internal events and meetings
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to support your learning and professional development

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a motivated student who is curious about HR and eager to learn in a professional setting. You should:

  • Be currently enrolled in a Human Resources degree or diploma program
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Be comfortable using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Bring a positive attitude, energy, and a willingness to take on new challenges

Previous experience in a professional or office environment is considered an asset but is not required.
