Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Software Developer is a member of the Software Development team responsible for designing, developing, and supporting modern, scalable software solutions. This role is primarily hands-on and focuses on developing scalable applications within LP Financial’s Desktop, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics CRM environments, while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a mixed local and hybrid team.
While this role is primarily focused on technology and software development, it is imperative that they learn and understand the organizational structure of LP Financial, our relationships with our advisors and their clients, and become familiar with the financial services industry.
Responsibilities:
Software Development
- Develop, test, implement, and support software solutions and enhancements, primarily within Desktop, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics CRM
- Collaborate with senior developers and the business analyst to understand requirements and contribute to solution design
- Maintain and support the operation of existing applications in partnership with IT team and external vendors
- Create and maintain technical and system documentation
- Engage in the code review process as both author and reviewer
- Identify and evaluate new tools, technologies, and approaches under guidance, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay abreast of digital security threats & best practices and implement security solutions as appropriate
- Develop solutions that meet established code quality and regulatory compliance standards
- Ad-hoc support – be an expert external resource for LP Financial advisors and staff with usage of LP technology and other technology related questions
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in a field related to Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- One to three years of experience in Software Development is required
- Familiarity with the financial services industry and concepts are an asset
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
