Role Summary:
As an accountant, you will be responsible for monthly and year-end closing activities for your scope with the support of senior accountants and supervisors, ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting. If you have a taste for it, there are also opportunities to be involved in closing process improvements and cross-functional teams’ collaboration to optimise general ledger and closing processes.

What can you expect as a Senior Accountant at Scandinavian Tobacco Group? Your primary tasks will be
- Manage the timely monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closing and reporting of your scope on SAP S4 Hana and IBM Cognos (consolidation) supported by seniors and supervisors: reconciliation of accounts, general ledger entries, cost allocations, accruals/provisions, etc.
- Perform monthly internal controls and quarterly sustainability reporting on STG’s internal tools (Impero / Enablon)
- Support in the resolution of more complex accounting tasks and issues hand-in-hand with seniors and supervisor
- If you have a taste for it, participate in closing process improvement by proposing ideas of process optimisations or the use of new SAP features or automations, with the support of seniors and supervisors
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):
- 4-5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years of closing & reporting experience and general ledger reconciliations
- Experience with SAP (preferably SAP S/4 HANA) and good Excel skills, or an ability to learn ERPs quickly
- Good understanding of financial accounting and reporting, local GAAP and IFRS principles
- Experience with a consolidation tool is a bonus (HFM, Cognos, Onestream, etc.) but optional
- A proactive and curious mindset
- Good time management to handle closing deadlines
- English is required; Portuguese is optional. Another European language is a plus
- Preferred Educational Requirements - BSc/BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance / B.com
