    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Corporate Controller is a highly visible role reporting to the SVP of Corporate Accounting and is responsible for financial close and reporting.  The Controller will be responsible for standing up a team that will oversee all aspects of compensation accounting for Stream’s employee company (EECo).  This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of compensation-related financial data and partners closely with Finance, HR, Operations, and senior leadership. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee the accounting and financial reporting and close for all employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, draw programs and broker commissions.
    • Oversee month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
    • Maintain and ensure proper documentation for shared services cost allocation methodologies for functions such as IT, HR, Corporate Accounting, and other centralized services.
    • Ensure shared service costs are allocated accurately, consistently, and transparently across business units, locations, and operating entities.
    • Partner with FP&A on quarterly allocation processes, including reconciliations and true-ups.
    • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
    • Partner with finance leadership to ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies and real estate industry standards.
    • Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.
    • Partner with HR and legal on plan documentation, compliance, and risk mitigation.
    • Manages and develops staff – provides coaching and mentorship to ensure professional growth.

    Qualifications

    • CPA is required in addition to a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in compensation accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a brokerage, financial services, professional services, or commission - based environment.
    • Commercial Real Estate, Brokerage, or Property Management related industry experience strongly preferred.
    • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
    • Experience with ERP systems, Workday preferred.
    • Deep knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and expense accruals.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced, high-accuracy environment.
    • Strategic thinker with hands-on operational expertise.
    • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
    • Must have an executive presence and effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.
    • Close attention to detail and the ability to work with a large amount of financial data.
    • Desire to work in a cooperative, productive, team-driven environment, willing to be hands-on, coach, and share information.
