Legal Assistant | Los Angeles, CA |Onsite
Pay range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
Job Description:
The legal assistant will assist with essential processing and administrative tasks. You’ll form part of a team with a friendly but fast-paced environment. This is a full-time non-exempt role in which you’ll report to the Office Manager. You must be willing to work at the Los Angeles Corporate office.
Job Duties
What you’ll do as a Legal Assistant:
- Set up new files
- Answer phones
- Prepare Postal Searches
- File legal pleadings
- Prepare default packages, writs, abstracts, bank levies, and wage garnishments
- Litigation Calendar input
- Send out demand letters
- Filing
Qualifications
What we look for in our Legal Assistant:
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- At least 2 years of collection litigation experience required
