Job Description
Marketing Manager (Hands-On, Player-Coach)
We’re looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager who can operate in a hybrid marketing model—partnering closely with agencies while still rolling up their sleeves when execution needs to happen internally.
Our agency partners handle much of the day-to-day execution, but there are critical areas where only an IPT employee can step in: field marketing, conferences, internal coordination, special projects, overflow work, and anything that requires context, judgment, or fast turnaround.
This is not a “set it and forget it” agency management role. It’s a player-coach position for someone who wants ownership, visibility, and real impact.
What You’ll Do
Manage Agencies (Hybrid Model)
- Act as the day-to-day owner of agency relationships
- Provide clear briefs, context, priorities, and feedback to agencies
- Ensure agency execution aligns with IPT’s strategy, brand, and timelines
- Step in personally when work is time-sensitive, specialized, or not suitable for agency execution
- Manage agency budgets, invoices, and performance
Execute Marketing(Yes, You’ll Do the Work)
- Handle hands-on marketing tasks that sit outside or overflow agency execution
- Create, update, and customize marketing materials: presentations, sales collateral, case studies, event materials
- Manage website updates, internal campaigns, and special initiatives that require internal ownership
- Order, manage, and track branded swag and marketing inventory
Own Events & Field Marketing
- Plan and execute IPT’s participation in conferences, trade shows, and industry events
- Coordinate booth logistics: signage, shipping, swag, staffing, and setup
- Attend conferences and represent IPT on-site
- Support webinars, client events, and customer-facing marketing activities
Lead Without Losing Touch
- Translate company goals into practical, executable marketing plans
- Maintain brand consistency across all channels and deliverables
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Leadership
- Take ownership when things need to get done—regardless of where they sit
Our Marketing Model
- Agencies handle most repeatable and scalable execution
- IPT owns strategy, prioritization, quality, and accountability
- This role fills the gap where:
- Speed matters
- Context matters
- Presence matters (events, internal coordination, special projects)
If you expect zero hands-on execution, this role won’t be a fit.
If you enjoy knowing when to delegate and when to jump in, you’ll thrive here.
What This Role Is (and Isn’t)
This role IS:
- Hybrid: agency-led execution + internal ownership
- Hands-on when needed
- Close to the business and visible
- Accountable for outcomes, not just plans
This role is NOT:
- Purely strategic
- A pass-through to agencies
- A role where “that’s not my job” works
Why This Role Matters
Marketing at IPT isn’t abstract. It shows up in booths, decks, campaigns, and conversations with customers. This role ensures that nothing falls through the cracks between “agency work” and “internal reality.”
If you like owning the gray areas and making things happen, we’d love to talk.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in a hybrid in-house / agency marketing model
- Comfort managing agencies and executing internally when required
- Experience with events, vendors, and field marketing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel and represent IPT at conferences
- Someone pragmatic, proactive, and accountable
