Job Description

Position Overview:

The Industrial Engineering Intern will support the Operations Excellence team by assisting in time studies, process observation, data collection, and productivity analysis across selected production and support functions. This role provides hands-on exposure to real operational improvement initiatives in a manufacturing/operations environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct time studies on selected production and support processes

  • Observe, document, and map process flows and work methods

  • Collect, compile, and analyze productivity and performance data

  • Assist in identifying improvement opportunities related to efficiency, cycle time, and resource utilization

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives under the Operations Excellence framework

  • Prepare basic reports, summaries, and presentations of findings

  • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and operations teams to gather accurate data
     

Learning Outcomes:

  • Practical exposure to time study and work measurement techniques

  • Understanding of real-world operations and process improvement

  • Hands-on experience supporting Operations Excellence initiatives

  • Development of data analysis, reporting, and teamwork skills

Qualifications

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in:

    • Industrial Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • or related technical disciplines

  • Basic understanding of industrial engineering concepts such as time study, process improvement, and productivity analysis

  • Comfortable working on-site in an operational / production environment

  • Good analytical and observation skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (basic level acceptable)

  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn
