About the role:
We’re looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to grow and support our broker channel. This role is all about building trust, expanding partnerships, and helping brokers succeed with our products, process, and people.
About the day-to-day:
- Build, manage, and grow relationships with mortgage brokers and key partners to influence the sale of Peoples Bank mortgage products.
- Drive new business through proactive outreach, networking, and market engagement.
- Act as a trusted advisor to brokers by understanding their needs and matching them with the right solutions.
- Collaborate closely with underwriting, operations, and leadership to ensure a smooth broker experience.
- Educate brokers on products, guidelines, and process updates.
- Follow and maintain a defined sales strategy based on activities and database management.
- Track activity, pipeline, and performance using CRM tools.
- Prepare, co-ordinate and present sales presentations and proposals to new and existing brokers and agents.
- Represent the company at industry events, trainings, and conferences.
- Accountable for achieving and reporting sales activity targets for the regions.
- Manage territory expenses and accountable for overall budget.
- Related administrative duties as required.
- Travel required approximately 20% of the time, primarily within Greater Vancouver Area, Okanagan & Vancouver Island.
About the qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or relationship management.
- Mortgage industry experience strongly preferred (broker, lender, ops, underwriting, account executive, etc.).
- Knowledge of mortgage lending (insured and uninsured), mortgage insurance policies and guidelines, and mortgage underwriting practices an asset.
- Understanding of the broker channel and how brokers operate.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a full sales pipeline.
- Ability to build long-term relationships, not just close quick deals.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Energetic and outgoing.
- Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

About the work environment:
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Hiring process:

Compensation:
The expected salary for this role is approximately $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
