Geospatial Data Architect
Role summary
Design the authoritative geospatial data model, governance, QA, and ingestion strategy that keeps airport GIS accurate, compliant, and usable across operations, engineering, and planning.
Responsibilities
- Define authoritative schemas and data governance for airport basemaps, assets, and operational layers; enforce versioning, QA, and metadata requirements.
- Architect ingestion pipelines for aerial imagery, orthos, LiDAR, survey outputs, and derived datasets into a compliant GIS database.
- Establish data exchange patterns between BIM/CAD systems and GIS, including “as-built/record” handling and long-term retention needs.
- Support indoor/space datasets for 3D indoor mapping and digital twin use cases (spaces, assets, relationships).
- Define quality metrics and continuous validation processes so operational dashboards and inspections rely on trusted data.
Required qualifications
- Proven experience as a data architect in GIS - schema design, governance, QA, ingestion, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with reality capture / survey / LiDAR or large geospatial datasets.
Preferred
- BIM/GIS integration experience and airport/transportation domain familiarity.
