ArcGIS Solution Architect
Role summary
Own the end-to-end architecture for ArcGIS-enabled airport capabilities (operations, inspections, concessions/space, capital programs), turning stakeholder needs into secure, scalable solutions across web, mobile, and data services. This mirrors MIA’s move to off-the-shelf ArcGIS components for inspection workflows and expansion into broader operational use cases.
Responsibilities
- Architect ArcGIS solutions using configured components (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Dashboards) and define the target-state roadmap for expanding use cases across the airport.
- Design integrations between GIS apps/dashboards and downstream systems (maintenance/work order, asset platforms, reporting), including automation/alerts and audit-ready traceability.
- Define solution patterns for indoor/space visualization and portfolio views (dashboards for leased vs available spaces, segmentation by business needs).
- Establish nonfunctional requirements (availability, security, performance, data quality) and implement reference architectures and documentation.
- Lead technical discovery with airport stakeholders and produce architecture diagrams, backlog, and implementation plan.
Required qualifications
- Experience architecting enterprise GIS solutions with Esri (ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, web apps, mobile forms/workflows).
- Integration design experience (APIs, identity/SSO patterns, data synchronization, automation).
- Comfortable translating operational/regulatory drivers into system requirements (inspection recordkeeping, auditability).
Preferred
- Airport/transportation domain experience (airfield ops, inspections, concessions/space, capital programs).
- Familiarity with BIM/GIS integration concepts and governance frameworks.
