Fire Suppression Design Engineer
Harrison, OH (Onsite) | Full-Time | Jr. Level: $25–$30/hour | Sr. Level: $70,000–$100,000/year
We are seeking a Fire Suppression Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Harrison, OH . This role is open to both Junior and Senior-level candidates depending on experience.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and supporting special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems . This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about safety, precision engineering, and design excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary design software.

Ensure all designs meet local, national, and manufacturer standards .

Conduct site surveys to verify system design and installation accuracy.

Provide technical direction to contractors during installation and operation.

Review project specifications and create corresponding design documentation.

Develop and update operation and maintenance manuals .

Maintain and revise drawings and design records as needed.

Support system inspections, testing, and commissioning when required.

Participate in professional training, including manufacturer and NICET certification programs .

Assist with internal process improvement and engineering support tasks.
Requirements
Qualifications

Previous experience in the fire protection industry required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer or related role.

Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting ; knowledge of 3D design software preferred.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Willingness to pursue and maintain NICET certification .

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
