
About this role
The Human Health & Performance (HHP) IT Project Manager Lead is responsible for managing, mentoring, and leading cross-functional teams of engineers, software developers, and system administrators across multiple product lines. This role supports mission-critical systems under the Johnson Space Center (JSC) HHPC2 contract, directly contributing to astronaut health, scientific objectives, and space station and ground-based studies.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and mentor cross-functional technical teams across multiple product lines supporting critical NASA systems.
Participate in the full lifecycle of systems and applications, including:
Design, development, testing, implementation, training, and support
Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and in-house applications
Third-party hardware solutions
Perform analysis, selection, customization, and integration of:
Enterprise systems and application software
Network hardware and software
Database systems
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute strategic roadmaps across multiple product lines.
Provide leadership in resolving mission-critical technical and operational challenges.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of experience in the information technology field.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring teams and managing customer relationships.
Proven ability to coordinate effectively with project teams, customers, users, and stakeholders to deliver successful software development projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading Tiger Teams to rapidly resolve mission-critical issues.
Ability to adapt quickly to new development tools and emerging technologies.
Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently.
Experience supporting NASA or aerospace-related programs.
Familiarity with NASA IT security standards.
Experience with NASA’s BRES software portfolio.
Experience with NASA crew health and mission safety platforms, including:
PersEIDS
MAVRIIC
Hippo
and related systems
Experience with AI and Cloud Services.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
