We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis at our Head Office in Cohuna, Victoria. This role is ideal for a recent accounting graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, professional environment.
To support accessibility and work-life balance, AWMA provides daily return company transport between Echuca and Cohuna.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Graduate Assistant Accountant will support the day-to-day execution of accounting and finance activities across the business. The role provides exposure to a broad range of accounting functions within a project-based manufacturing environment, supporting accurate financial reporting and compliance.
You will assist and ensure deliverables across key finance and administrative areas, including:
- Accounts Payable – assisting with invoice processing, reconciliations, and supplier queries
- Accounts Receivable – supporting invoicing, receipting, and customer account maintenance
- General Accounting Support – assisting with month-end processes and basic accounting checks and duties.
- Data & Records – ensuring data and records are maintained accurately and confidentially

About You
You are a recent graduate or early-career professional who is eager to learn, highly organised, and enjoys working with numbers and detail. You take pride in accuracy and enjoy supporting a team in achieving reliable financial outcomes.
You will bring:
- A completed degree in accounting, commerce or finance degree from an Australian, New Zealand or UK university
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Previous experience is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
