ADP is hiring a Senior Manager, Trust Accounting, who is responsible for the reliable operation and ongoing management of ADP’s proprietary payment services application, business resiliency, and client funds accounting and payment services regulatory compliance for International Money Movement globally.
Trust Accounting is part of the International Money Movement Shared Services organization. Key responsibilities include user support and maintenance for the proprietary application in partnership with product and technology, business resiliency planning and testing, client funds cash forecasting and reconciliations and reporting of client funds management activities, and testing and implementation of cross-functional initiatives with broad organizational impact.
The Senior Manager is also accountable for compliance governance and oversight, working in partnership with the local and global legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including the Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA) and regulations.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Shared Services, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive and execute on projects and enhancements. The Senior Trust Accounting Manager is a key team member in leading ADP’s growth with accountability for delivering on money movement initiatives.
You have a proven track record and consistently frame decisions in an enterprise context, consider impacts on the rest of the business, dependencies, and align decisions with long term organizational priorities. You balance operational excellence while also anticipating and planning for future operational, regulatory, and capability requirements. You demonstrate sound decision-making in our complex and sometimes ambiguous environment and represent Shared Services and Trust Accounting with credibility to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Leadership, Plan and Execute Large Scale Initiatives
- Drive process improvement, standardization, and operational resilience and scalability.
- Lead and shape the development of functional and enterprise-level strategies, roadmap, and priorities, translating strategic priorities into executable plans with measurable outcomes for initiatives with cross-functional and broad organizational impact.
- Identify emerging risks, trends, and opportunities that may impact ADP’s operating model and/or have regulatory impact including RPAA, Anti-Money Laundering, and other compliance considerations.
- Own International Money Movement business resiliency and disaster recovery planning, execution and testing to ensure plans remain aligned with risk-tolerance requirements.
- Communicate complex issues clearly and concisely for executive and non-technical audiences including preparing and presenting proposals, recommendations, and updates to senior leadership.
- Build collaborative and effective relationships across functions, operating units, and external partners.
- Act as a strategic partner to influence senior leadership stakeholders and provide recommendations and decisions to peers, senior and executive management.
Governance and Risk Accountability
- Ensure compliance with SOX, SOC1, operational controls, and payment services and safeguarding regulatory requirements in all operating units.
- Understand and apply cross-domain compliance knowledge and experience to assess and identify impacts on business priorities and risks including impact to ADP’s regulatory obligations.
- Lead and support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of governance frameworks and policies including ADP Canada’s RPAA Compliance Framework.
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of payment services and ensure controls and processes align with risk management frameworks and ADP’s regulatory and compliance obligations globally.
- Escalate material risks and issues to senior leadership including compliance teams and the Senior Payments Officer with clear recommendations and mitigation strategies.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a diverse team across multiple locations and countries.
- Set clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards aligned with business strategy and objectives including leading and overseeing unit-of-work metrics to assess capacity and resource utilization.
- Build and foster a collaborative team environment with a culture add approach to ensure diversity in strengths and skills, promote independence, and empower associates to learn and achieve their professional development goals.
- Accountable for establishing and delivering measurable leadership outcomes that demonstrate team effectiveness, capability development, and continuity of critical roles including developing internal leadership bench strength to support organizational continuity and succession plans.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- 8 or more years of business experience with increasing scope, complexity, and accountability leading and executing on complex enterprise and cross-functional initiatives.
- 5 or more years in-depth experience leading complex teams or functions within a regulated or risk-sensitive environment, preferably payment services or financial services industries. Experience in a segregated funds or regulated financial services environment an asset.
- Demonstrated success leading managers, senior professionals, and building diverse collaborative virtual and in person teams.
- Proven ability to operate across organizational boundaries and influence without direct authority.
- Experience in managing formal control frameworks (SOC1, SOX), as well as day to day operational control environments including managing audits, regulatory reviews, and formal oversight of a compliance framework or program is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or complex situations exercising risk-based decision making in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Executive level communication and presentation skills.
- High degree of accountability, integrity, and professionalism.
- Proficient in standard business productivity tools including MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary degree or program in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent business experience, MBA preferred.
- Completion of a recognized accounting designation (CPA) or recognized equivalent preferred.
