The role:
We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Controller to join the organisation within our Northern Operation team in Darwin, the key objective for this role will include:
- Delivering and maintaining all daily aviation operational requirements across multiple contracts
- Co-ordination and execution of all operational requirements across CareFlight Northern Operations
- Working on a 5 day on / 5 day off roster pattern (7am -5pm) supervising the ground support team
- Liaise with the Engineering department to manage daily engineering requirements as required.
- Communication of aviation operational requirements to other departments
- Liaise with Aerodrome Operators including local councils and external customers regarding airstrip serviceability on an as needed basis
- Assist other departments as required in the scheduling of training, roster changes and travel requirements
- Prepare for and assist with Defence related deployments.
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Essential
- Experience in transport operations in a similar role, which includes maintenance planning
- A strong ability to problem-solve, think outside the box, make decisions, propose and negotiate solutions and action solutions
- The ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines
- Communicate effectively across multiple disciplines and in a timely manner
- Strong computer skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- The ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Hold a current Driver’s Licence and the ability to acquire an Airside Driving Authority.
Desirable
Previous experience in a supervisory position is highly desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of aviation terminology
- Experience with Air Maestro
- Previous experience in an Aviation or Clinical/Emergency services environment.
