About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the day‑to‑day financial operations and month‑end processes within our Finance team. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial data. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys contributing to a collaborative finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare bank statements to ensure timely and accurate bank allocations.
Process purchase invoices using Mfour/SAP.
Resolve supplier queries in partnership with suppliers and the Procurement team.
Scan and organise purchase invoices within the document management system.
Complete GRNI reconciliations with suppliers.
Process employee expenses through Concur.
Perform daily bank reconciliations.
Prepare month‑end journals for review.
Support customer and supplier rebate calculations.
Prepare and calculate depreciation within the Fixed Asset Register.
Prepare and analyse daily commercial reports.
Assist with stock reconciliation and provisioning.
Carry out additional ad hoc duties as assigned by senior management.
What You Will Bring
Minimum AAT qualification (essential).
Intermediate Excel skills, including lookups, IF statements, and pivot tables.
Strong IT literacy, particularly with MS Office applications.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team.
Knowledge of accounting principles.
GCSE/O‑Level (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
