Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the preparation and delivery of monthly financial reports, Outlook reporting, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal and external standards. This role partners cross-functionally across Operational and Commercial Finance teams, providing insightful analysis and leveraging analytical tools and financial models to influence decision-making and drive operational efficiencies.

What You’ll Do
Financial and Managerial Reporting
• Support the timely and accurate consolidation of quarterly and annual external financial statements under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, along with other financial reports for key stakeholders
• Collaborate with finance partners to ensure timely completion of external audit requirements
• Participate in annual intangible and goodwill impairment testing
• Partner closely with Controllership to advise on and oversee accurate journalization and disclosure of complex accounting transactions
• Maintain strong internal controls and documentation over financial reporting processes
• Lead period-end variance analysis and management reporting, supporting the preparation of accurate and insightful reports and presentations for Executives and the Board
• Lead the preparation and submission of Statistics Canada reporting schedules
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Strategic Planning
• Lead forecasting and planning activities across various P&L expense categories (e.g., depreciation, ROU) and analyze actual performance against benchmarks
• Apply analytical frameworks to assess “year-to-go” performance, including trend analysis and normalization activities, in support of the VP, Commercial Finance
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of LifeLabs’ projections and strategic initiatives to ensure alignment across deliverables
• Support ad-hoc reporting, financial analysis, and transformation initiatives as required by senior finance leadership
What You’ll Bring
• University degree in a financial discipline
• CPA Designation required
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in Reporting and/or FP&A. Experience in public accounting an asset.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP standards considered an asset
• Strong analytical and financial planning skills, with the ability to identify issues and escalate as appropriate
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional deliverables with a high degree of accuracy
• Developing management presentation capabilities
• Strong understanding of period-end accounting processes and financial planning cycles
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Oracle Cloud, SAP, EPM application suites preferred)
• Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
• Strong collaboration, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
