The Position
As the Compliance Manager / SHE Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that operations and business interactions comply with all relevant requirements and internal Roche policies. In this role and under the oversight of and in collaboration with the Director Legal & Compliance Pharma Baltics Cluster, this role will perform in capacity of compliance, SHE and security and will serve as a role model in ethical behavior and decision-making, promoting a culture of integrity and compliance across the organization while collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the fulfillment of all Roche divisional and local requirements.
Your Impact:
Compliance Responsibilities
- Provide clear and actionable guidance to other departments to enable them to achieve their business goals in a compliant manner and in accordance with policies and guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to Roche global standards such as the Code of Conduct and all Pharma Compliance-related Directives and guidelines, relevant Lithuanian legislation and local industry association Code of Ethics and any other relevant global and local regulations.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency in the compliance function and implement improvement initiatives. Develop compliance SOPs or policies and provide targeted training to employees.
- Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks associated with business operations, products, and services using data-driven approaches and conduct periodic monitoring activities, including spot checks and approvals, to confirm compliance with company policies.
- Design and deliver training on directives, guidelines, standards, and industry regulations and conduct compliance onboarding training for new employees, tailored to their function and role while promoting ethical behavior and decision-making.
- Continuously strive to increase the organization’s compliance maturity & employees’ ability to navigate the compliance processes and requirements.
- Collaborate efficiently with Diagnostics division compliance function in matters that relate to the whole Lithuanian legal entity and collaborate on pan-Baltic compliance projects.
- Ensure employees are informed about and encouraged to use speak-up channels, including the Roche Group Speak-Up Line.
- Manage the Business Ethics Incident Reporting (BEIR) system and document material business ethics incidents.
- Manage internal and external compliance audits, ensure timely responses to findings, and implement corrective actions and Maintain detailed records relating to the compliance management system.
SHE Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections and investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify causes and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations while promoting a healthy workplace environment by implementing health and wellness programs.
- Conduct workplace health risk assessments and establish control measures.
- Provide guidance on occupational health, hygiene standards, and ergonomics.
- Coordinate with occupational health professionals for employee health assessments.
- Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Provide training on SHE policies, procedures, and best practices and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of safety and environmental activities and records of incidents, risk assessments, and corrective actions taken.
Site Security Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage security policies and procedures while conducting regular patrols and surveillance to monitor activity and prevent unauthorized access to the premises.
- Ensure access control systems and procedures are effectively managed.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies and conduct thorough investigations of security breaches, incidents, and suspicious activities while maintaining detailed records of security activities, incidents, and investigations.
- Report incidents to the appropriate authorities and document findings accurately.
- Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other security personnel as needed.
- Coordinate with the internal security team and other departments to enhance overall security measures
- Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees.
- Create security-related communication materials and ensure employees are up to date with the latest security protocols.
- Ensure all security systems and equipment are regularly checked and maintained and conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international security standards and regulations.
Who you are:
- You hold bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration or a related field.
- You bring minimum of 5 years of experience in legal, compliance and/or facility management, health & safety areas. Prior experience in life sciences sector is a plus
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess compliance and environmental risks.
- You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively aligning and communicating compliance updates and sustainability initiatives across the organization. Ability to influence without authority and forge strong collaborative relationships cross-functionally and cross-divisionally with ability to coach and guide the organization to reach new levels of compliance maturity.
- You have strong ability to adapt to changing regulations and standards, ensuring the company's policies and practices remain compliant and aligned with best practices.
- You demonstrate the Roche Values of Integrity, Courage & Passion and have a proven ability to effectively lead and enable change and build strong, sustainable relationships with internal and external partners.
- You demonstrate innovative thinking to implement compliance initiatives and address challenges in a creative way, as necessary; ability to condense complex processes or topics into an easily digestible format
- You are fluent in Lithuanian, excellent command of written and spoken English, and the ability to convey messages clearly, convincingly and diplomatically.
Salary starts from 2973 EUR gross/month. Final salary depends on the level of experience, skills and qualifications.
