About this role
We are a fast-growing SaaS company in the EduTech space, operating mainly in Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia, with almost 2000 schools as customers. Our mission is to revolutionize early childhood education through technology and provide innovative, scalable solutions to our customers. With a team of 60 talented individuals, we are committed to transforming the way education is delivered in the Southeast Asian region and beyond.
Our DNA: What We Need From You
To thrive in this developing environment, you must live by our code:
High Agency & Accountability: Don't Blame, Solve. Since we are still figuring things out, things will break. You spend zero energy pointing fingers and 100% on finding the cure. You Own it all as the Directly Responsible Individual.
Simplicity with Depth: Design for ease, think with depth. You apply band-aids for immediate support, but you never lose sight of resolving the root cause for long-term stability.
Sense of Urgency: Feel the heat. When a customer struggles, you own that pressure until the pain is gone.
One LittleLives: Cover your team. Be a supporter, not an observer. Flag the blockers, then pass the ball.
About the Position
Title: Product Designer (UI/UX)
Location: Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh (Remote)
Department: Product
Reports to: CPO
The Mission:
At LittleLives, we build technology that puts the "human" back into education. We are the leading School Management System (SMS) in Asia, but we operate with the hunger and agility of a developing startup.
We are looking for a Product Designer who balances User Delight with System Logic. You won’t just be designing screens; you will be designing time-savers for busy teachers and peace of mind for parents.
The Reality Check: We are not a UX-mature corporation yet.
If you are looking for a place with a rigid Double Diamond process, a perfect design handbook, and clear-cut tracks for everything. This is not it.
We are still figuring it out: Our processes are fluid. Our Design Ops are being built as we fly.
You are the architect: We don't expect you to just follow a process; we expect you to help us build it. You must be comfortable with ambiguity, willing to define your own workflows, and ready to adapt when things change.
How We Work: Design Leads the Way
This is not a paint the wireframes role. At LittleLives, Design is a strategic partner.
We don't wait for a perfect brief: You will often visualize solutions before the requirements are fully written. Your designs help the Product Manager define the scope.
Decide not Debate: We value moving fast. Once a decision is determined, we wholly buy in and execute.
Data over Intuition: We love beautiful UI, but The quantitative speaks qualitative. You use data to cement trust and back up your decisions.
What You Will Be Doing
Strategic Solutioning & Documentation
Slide the Issue: You take big, ambiguous problems and break them down into solvable flows.
System Thinking: You map out complex B2B logic. You understand that a "simple" change in the student database affects billing, attendance, and the parent app simultaneously.
Documentation: You write clear, structured notes and logic flows. You use AI tools to move fast, but rely on your own command of English to ensure human clarity.
Visual Craft & Quality Control
Pixel-Perfect Execution: We have zero tolerance for unfinished looks. Your spacing, alignment, and typography must be intentional.
Invent the New, Better the Old: You will chase big new features while continuously perfecting our existing systems.
Frontend QA: You are the gatekeeper. You review the developed product to ensure the padding and interactions match your design exactly.
Research & Empathy
Contextual Research: Conduct user interviews with teachers and parents across Southeast Asia.
SEA Sensitivity: You are comfortable communicating with users who may have less-than-perfect English or varying levels of tech-literacy.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Senior: 5+ Years of extensive experience, with a track record of leading complex projects.
Methodology & Process: Follow the existing (fluid) process and can execute well but need guidance when workflows break.
Impact on Manager: Need regular check-ins to unblock issues or clarify ambiguous requirements.
Oversight: Be comfortable executing a defined scope but need support on large, ambiguous initiatives.
Collaboration & Conflict: Participate in discussions and accept business decisions gracefully.
Strategic Influence: Advocate for the user experience within a specific feature.
Resilience: Adapt to pivots with guidance.
Startup Grit: You are comfortable with pivots. You dare to iterate, knowing that experiments take time, but you just run them.
Process Builder: You don't just follow the rules; you help create them.
Logic & Systems: Ability to design for complex B2B systems (SaaS) where data integrity is key.
Tool Mastery: Expert in Figma (Auto-Layout, Variables).
Tech-Savvy: Basic understanding of HTML/CSS concepts to communicate effectively with developers.
Language: Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Application Process
Application: Submit your updated resume and portfolio featuring case studies that demonstrate:
System Thinking: How you solved a complex logic problem.
Navigating Ambiguity: A time you worked without a clear process or brief.
Documentation: Examples of how you explain your design logic.
Role Challenge: Your submission will be the basis for Technical Interview, where we will discuss your decisions, challenge your logic, and see how you handle constraints.

Cultural Fit Interview (Optional)
