Sony Europe

Posted 4 days ago

About this role

Joining our DX (Digital Transformation) AI & Automation team, you will turn machine learning and Generative AI ideas into robust, production-ready solutions that reshape how Sony Europe works and makes decisions. Side by side with other data scientists and engineers, you will own AI initiatives end-to-end: discovering high-value opportunities, experimenting fast, and scaling the projects that make a visible difference to the business.

This is an applied, end-to-end role for people who want to move beyond experimental demos. You will work directly with internal customers and colleagues across Sony Europe to deliver production-grade AI solutions solving real business challenges.

You will:

  • Partner with team members across DX and business functions throughout Sony to identify high-value AI opportunities and shape concrete projects.
  • Lead the AI lifecycle: data pipelines, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring and iteration, according to MLOps/LLMOps methodologies.
  • Work closely with IT, software engineering and infrastructure teams to design scalable, compliant, production-grade inference setups and end-to-end solutions.
  • Define and track success metrics for AI solutions, evaluate model and system performance (including user feedback), and iterate to improve business impact.
  • Typical projects include building AI agents to assist internal teams and external customers or to automate business processes.

You will bring:

  • University degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Engineering or similar);
  • Professional experience as a data scientist, AI engineer, software developer or similar role, in building and deploying AI Agent applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, plus experience in using agentic AI frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, OpenAI Agents, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience taking ML/AI solutions from PoC to production on cloud platforms (ideally Azure) using MLOps/LLMOps standard methodologies.
  • Good communication and customer management skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with experience prioritising and delivering multiple projects.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred qualifications

  • Understanding of data privacy, regulatory constraints (e.g. EU AI Act) and responsible AI principles, and ability to design solutions with these constraints in mind.
  • Experience delivering AI/ML into real business workflows, with first-hand exposure to challenges such as change management, user adoption, data quality and integrating with legacy systems.
