Location: Quito, Ecuador (100% On-Site — Mandatory)
Engagement Type: Fixed-Term (8 months)
Role Overview: The Solution / Software Architect serves as the operational technical lead for the New eSIGEF pilot. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the application and integration layers, ensuring the system is scalable, secure, resilient, and ready for production.
You will lead day-to-day technical execution, working hands-on with engineering and platform specialists while coordinating closely with enterprise, data, and security stakeholders.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Design Leadership - Own the design and implementation of the application, integration, and API layers of the New eSIGEF solution.
- Engineering Leadership & Mentorship - Provide direct technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers, frontend developers, and DevOps specialists, ensuring disciplined development practices and architectural consistency.
- Quality, Security, and Performance Assurance - Ensure the solution meets rigorous standards for performance, security, reliability, and maintainability, including disciplined testing, code review, and release controls.
- Cross-Discipline Integration - Coordinate closely with specialists responsible for cybersecurity and data architecture to ensure their designs are fully integrated into the main software build.
- Government Counterpart Engagement - Work directly with MEF technical teams to explain design decisions, validate requirements, support demonstrations, and facilitate formal acceptance of the pilot solution.
Reporting & Coordination
- Reports to the QBE Project Governance Office.
- Works in close coordination with the Enterprise Architect.
- Serves as the primary technical authority for software delivery and system integration.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Experience: Minimum 10 years in Software or Solution Architecture roles.
- Mandatory Certification (Audit-Critical): Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
- Technical Mastery:
o .NET Core 8
o C# microservices architectures
o CQRS patterns
o Kubernetes (AKS) and containerized deployments
- Languages:
o Spanish: C1 (Fluent)
o English: C1 (Professional)
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
· Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
· Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
