Description
Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a full-time Coder position. This position is not remote and is located at our Kaysville Business Office.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining coding compliance for multi-specialty clinic.
- Audit procedure and diagnostic codes for accuracy, detail and comprehensive description of clinical procedures
- Responsible for maintaining current ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT and coding skills
- Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail
- Ability to interpret and apply Medicare (CCI) and payer edits
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma required
- Certified Professional Coder is required
Experience:
- Coding experience preferred
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology
- Must have strong knowledge of computer and other office equipment
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures
- Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies
Skills:
- Proficient skills in computer programs
Abilities:
- Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret medical charts
- Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with others
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
