Engineering Manager

Role Objective:  This position’s mission is to ensure a safe and complete execution of all engineering and construction activities related to the Cuxtal II project, collaborating closely with the project team and stakeholders, considering Group’s policies, Engie management systems and project specific procedures. This position has close interaction with senior project management, leading the implementation of all engineering and construction activities for the complete scope of work of the Cuxtal II project.

 

Your Impact: As Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to our mission, playing a key role in :

  1. Oversight of the engineering development from conceptual stage, thru FEED (Front End Engineering Design) / Basic Engineering as well as detailed engineering for both pipeline and facilities (including but not limited to compressor stations, Main Line Valves, Metering and Regulating stations, pipeline assemblies, traps, interconnection assemblies, etc.) for the Cuxtal II project. Responsibility includes: hydraulic simulations, calculations and design reviews both internal and thru 3rd parties to ensure a safe, high quality and adequate design to fulfil project objectives; oversight of all engineering related deliverables including but not limited to reports, project decision records, drawings, calculations, procedures, RFI, RFQ, RFP preparation along with all necessary exhibits, construction work packages for 3rd party / EPC contractors, design basis, constructability reviews, commissioning and start up procedures, operating philosophies and all engineering related products as per Engie and customarily accepted international practices.

2. Oversight of all construction activities related to the Cuxtal II project. Once the construction contracts have been awarded, responsibilities include the proper staffing to complete construction services of pipeline and facilities contracts.

Responsibility includes practical management and planning of every stage of the construction process to ensure the project is completed safely, within Budget, on time and with the expected quality, review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs, oversight all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with set standards and safety regulations, ensure ccoordination of Contractor’s construction development plan as per the contract, ensure contractual conditions of performance are met, review the work progress, oversight for the timely delivery of reports pertaining to job status, plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones, negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and ensure obtain owner’s obligation for permits and licences are obtain on a timely fashion, aanalyze, manage and mitigate risks and ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques are

utilized to deliver a safe project.

3. Interact with the Contracts and Procurement Group to ensure the timely procurement of goods and services needed forthe Cuxtal II project. Some of the activities include coordination for identifying potential supplier sources, conductinginterviews with potential vendors, negotiating favourable supplier agreements and review supplier and vendor contracts.

Needs to understand all facets of contract formation, negotiation, and management and provide technical guidance andoversight of the procurement function to contribute for timely delivery of goods and services.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree on Engineering

Demonstrated track record of success (15+ years) in project management, including engineering and construction services.

Project Management, engineering and construction experience preferable in

Mexico and desirable international experience as well.

- Experience with Owner Companies

- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset

- Good knowledge of contracts and contracting

- Motivated, outstanding positive can-do attitude and desire to grow job responsibility.

 

Advanced Spanish

Advanced English

15 years extensive experience in the energy and/or oil & gas sector with the similar position.
