Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a Product Engineering Manager (PEM) to lead cross‑functional engineering teams through the full product lifecycle — from concept to launch — while connecting technical execution with business strategy. This role is critical in ensuring our products meet customer needs, market demands, and Teradyne’s innovation standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead products from concept through launch, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing Management, Design, Manufacturing, and Marketing to ensure project success.
  • Drive project execution, including scheduling, resource planning, budgeting, and quality oversight.
  • Make strategic technical decisions and guide innovation across engineering functions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including non‑technical partners, customers, and leadership.
  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to business objectives.
  • Translate customer and market needs into technical requirements and specifications.
  • Oversee development to ensure alignment with product strategy and quality standards.
  • Prioritize backlogs and technical initiatives using data‑informed decision‑making.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the lifecycle.
  • Define and analyze KPIs related to product success, reliability, and performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams while promoting best practices.

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • MS or PhD preferred.
  • 10+ years of product development experience operating at a senior engineering or leadership level within semiconductor equipment or complex electromechanical systems.
  • Leading engineering teams through the full product lifecycle.
  • Managing technical strategy, architecture, and cross‑disciplinary development.
  • Strong technical fluency across relevant technology domains (e.g., hardware, software, thermal, mechanical, automation, FPGA).
  • Data‑driven decision‑making, risk analysis, and KPI management.
  • Translating market/customer needs into technical specifications.
  • Managing schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Clear and confident communication.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with professionalism and agility.
  • Mentorship, coaching, and fostering inclusive collaboration.
  • Influencing across organizational levels without direct authority.

 

Preferences

  • Experience with complex electromechanical system development.
  • Experience developing semiconductor or high‑reliability systems

 

 

This position is not eligible for relocation.

 

Compensation: 
The base salary range for this role is $138,200 - $221,100. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
