The Data Architect is responsible for designing, building, and governing scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures that enable analytics, integrations, and real-time data processing across the organization. This role works closely with Solution Architects, Data Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data platforms align with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Translate business and technical requirements into robust data architecture designs and specifications.
- Design, document, and maintain logical and physical data models, data flows, and integration patterns.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure alignment between data architecture, applications, and system interactions.
- Define and enforce architecture standards and best practices across relational, NoSQL, streaming, and cloud-based data solutions.
- Act as an architecture lead across discovery, planning, and delivery phases of data initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance to data engineering teams to ensure solutions adhere to architectural principles.
- Review designs and implementations to ensure scalability, performance, security, and compliance.
- Drive platform evolution through reusable, modular, and future-ready architecture patterns.
- Establish standards for data modeling, metadata management, naming conventions, and data access controls.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, classification, governance, and audit requirements.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Analytics teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data structures, semantics, and lifecycle management across key business domains.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture, with at least 3 years in an architecture-focused role.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as GCP and/or Azure, including native data services.
- Deep understanding of relational databases, NoSQL systems, and object storage architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL; proficiency in Python preferred.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines for data platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
- Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple initiatives in parallel.
