GENERAL DESCERIPTION

The Talent Acquisition Manager will play a critical role in building and leading the Talent Acquisition function for Crane. This individual will partner closely with the VP of HR to design the overall TA strategy, develop best-in-class recruitment processes, and ensure the TA team is equipped to source and acquire top talent across both corporate and field locations. The Talent Acquisition Manager will develop strong, trusting relationships with leaders and hiring managers, ensuring alignment on workforce needs while delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.
The role will oversee recruitment operations, employer branding, recruiting technology (including the implementation of the Simple VMS), and relationships with third-party recruiting partners. Additionally, this leader will support and enhance Crane’s College Recruiting and Internship Program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Leadership & Strategy 

  • Partner with the VP of HR to develop and execute the long-term Talent Acquisition strategy for Crane. 
  • Build and scale the Talent Acquisition function, including onboarding and developing recruiters to support corporate and field hiring needs.
  • Establish strong rapport with business leaders and hiring managers to understand workforce needs and ensure recruiting alignment with business goals.
  • Implement TA performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting to measure quality, efficiency, and success of recruiting activities. 

Recruitment Operations 

  • Develop sourcing strategies to attract diverse, high-quality talent, including evaluating and selecting the most effective recruitment channels.
  • Create Hiring Manager interview training and interview packets.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a positive candidate experience.
  • Manage and optimize the contingent workforce program, including oversight of staffing vendors and third-party recruitment partnerships. 
  • Implement and manage the Simple VMS across Crane’s sites, ensuring user adoption and system efficiency.
  • Partner with HR Operations to ensure smooth workflow integration between systems (ATS, HRIS, VMS). 

Employer Branding & Partnerships 

  • Determine what recruiting sources are best suited for Crane and monitor their effectiveness and return on investment for the organization.  
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to build and strengthen Crane’s employer brand.
  • Develop recruitment marketing strategies including job advertisements, social media outreach, career fairs, and digital campaigns.
  • Promote Crane as an employer of choice across relevant markets and channels. 

College Recruiting / Early Talent 

  • Lead and expand the College Recruiting and Internship Program.
  • Build partnerships with universities, technical schools, and industry associations.
  • Coordinate campus events, interview days, and internship programming. 

Team Leadership 

  • Provide coaching, development, and guidance to the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus within the team. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. 
10+ years of Talent Acquisition experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. 
Must be comfortable presenting to our Executive Leadership team.  
Executive presence and strong presentation skills are a must. 
Demonstrated success building or scaling successful TA functions is required. 
Experience supporting both corporate and high-volume field-based hiring environments.

  • Experience implementing recruitment systems (ATS, VMS) and optimizing TA technology. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication, influence, and project management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to leverage data to drive decisions.
