Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

The Role

We are seeking an execution-focused Integrated Marketing Manager to join Square's Japan marketing team. At this level, you will focus on delivering high-quality integrated marketing programs, building strong foundational marketing skills, and contributing to business outcomes through disciplined execution and collaboration.

You will support go-to-market initiatives in Japan across creative, media, partnerships, social & content, and experiential channels, working under the guidance of the Head of Integrated Marketing in Japan. This role is ideal for a marketer who is developing sound judgment, learning how to translate insights into action, and growing toward broader strategic ownership.

You Will

  • Execute integrated marketing campaigns in Japan across paid media, content, partnerships, and experiential channels, following clearly defined objectives, timelines, and KPIs.
  • Apply customer and market insights (e.g., Japanese business owner behaviors, cultural context, and competitive dynamics) to improve campaign relevance and performance.
  • Write clear, structured briefs that communicate campaign goals, target audiences, messaging, channels, and success metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Marketing partners to localize global initiatives for Japan, ensuring brand consistency while adapting execution to local needs.
  • Work with media agencies to support planning, buying, execution, and reporting across channels such as TV, OOH, digital, and social, incorporating feedback and optimization guidance.
  • Coordinate with creative partners to support asset development, provide actionable feedback, and ensure timely delivery aligned with Square's brand standards.
  • Track campaign performance and budgets for assigned initiatives, using data to identify learnings, opportunities for optimization, and areas for improvement.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Sales, Product Marketing, Comms) to support integrated go-to-market programs and launches.
  • Contribute to team learning and improvement by documenting results, sharing insights, and adopting best practices.

You Have

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, with a strong focus on campaign execution and delivery.
  • Hands-on experience executing marketing campaigns in Japan, with exposure to integrated or multi-channel programs (e.g., paid media, content, partnerships, experiential).
  • A working understanding of Japanese business owner behavior, cultural context, and the local media landscape, and the ability to apply this knowledge to campaign execution.
  • Experience collaborating with media and/or creative agencies, including briefing, coordination, feedback, and performance reporting.
  • Strong executional rigor and attention to detail, with developing analytical skills to interpret performance data and identify optimization opportunities.
  • The ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams (e.g., Global Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing, Comms) under clear direction and shared goals.
  • Clear and structured written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document plans, share updates, and incorporate feedback.
  • Experience managing campaign-level budgets, timelines, and deliverables for assigned initiatives.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with openness to coaching, feedback, and continuous learning.
  • Fluency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to B2B or SMB marketing.
  • Experience in FinTech, payments, or technology-driven products.
  • Experience supporting influencer or social media campaigns.
  • Exposure to brand partnerships or collaborations in a supporting role.
