This position will be in Huntsville, AL.
Description
The selected Principal Systems Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Systems Engineering Team for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product. This role is responsible for developing and assisting in the requirements process that directly supports the design and development of GWS capabilities on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related experience, or 1 years of experience with a PhD in STEM.
Must have a solid understanding of system engineering processes and principles, along with proven experience in applying them to develop product solutions.
Must have experience with SW development and the verification of requirements.
Experience on a large-scale missile defense system like GMD.
Applicants must possess good communication skills.
Applicants must demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions.
Capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the MDA GMD program.
Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics.
Battle Management or Fire Control experience.
MBSE or INCOSE Certifications.
Experience developing SE artifacts, including specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, and similar documents.
