Maintenance Officer

We have an opportunity for an experienced Handyperson to join the team, reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager. This varied role requires you to maintain the resort building, plant & equipment, fixtures, and fittings to the required standard, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors and employees.

You will be responsible for undertaking general repairs and maintenance as well as preventative maintenance programs throughout the resort. This includes:

• Ensure consistent and high-quality maintenance works across all resort facilities and trades.
• Changing of light globes and fixtures;
• Ensure consistent and high-quality maintenance works across all facilities and trades
• Ensure each room has no maintenance defects prior to guest arrival
• Pool Cleaning and Maintenance
• Painting of Houses, areas
• Identify faults and coordinate with trade-qualified contractors such as electricians, plumbers, and air conditioning mechanics.
• Help Organise and perform periodic cleaning and maintenance
• Find faults and contact trade-qualified contractors such as electricians, plumbers, and air conditioning mechanics.

To be successful, you will need to possess:

• Relevant trade qualifications (Electrician/Mechanic/Plumber/Engineer/Carpentry/Painting) are beneficial.
• An ability to work in occupied areas with an awareness of Safety & respect for others
• A building trade/handyman background;
• Trade qualifications beneficial (Electrician/Mechanic/Plumber/Engineer/Carpentry/Painting)
• A sense of responsibility and motivation;
• A focus on team achievements;
• A current WA manual Driver's Licence ('A' class).
• Working knowledge of household and pool chemicals
• Current police clearance
• A current WA Drivers Licence ('A' class manual)
• As is the nature of the Hospitality industry, Smiths Beach Resort will operate seven days per week and therefore requests that all applicants consider that weekend work will be a requirement for this position - we are looking for a team member who is available to work 5 days per week.
• Proficiency with relevant building maintenance software and systems.

The successful candidate will have unlimited work rights in Australia and be flexible to work, you will have to be on a permanent Visa.

You will have experience in a similar role or environment, preferably in hotels.
