Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pega Software Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable Pega solutions supporting complex, enterprise business processes. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with architectural ownership, ensuring solutions align with Pega best practices, guardrails, and enterprise standards.
The ideal candidate can balance speed of delivery with architectural discipline, while designing, reviewing, and coaching teams across multiple Pega initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
Architect and design Pega applications using Pega Platform best practices, including:
Low-code design principles
Guardrail compliance
Reuse-first architecture
Define and enforce end-to-end solution architecture, including:
Case design
Data models
Integrations
UI strategy
Technical Leadership & Governance
Lead technical and architectural design reviews
Ensure adherence to Pega guardrails, enterprise standards, and design patterns
Provide hands-on guidance for:
Complex rule design
Performance tuning
Debugging and troubleshooting
Mentor development teams and promote Pega engineering best practices
Integration & Platform Engineering
Design and oversee integrations with external systems, including:
REST and SOAP services
Messaging-based integrations
File-based interfaces
Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements, including:
Performance and scalability
Security and resiliency
Maintainability and extensibility
Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with business, product, and delivery teams to translate requirements into well-architected Pega solutions
Support production issues and guide root-cause analysis for complex defects
Contribute to Pega platform strategy, including:
Upgrades
Reusable assets
Architectural standards
Required Qualifications
Experience & Certification
8+ years of enterprise application development experience
Significant hands-on experience with Pega Platform
Pega Senior System Architect (SSA) certification required
Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) certification strongly preferred
Pega Technical Expertise
Deep knowledge of:
Pega case management
Data modeling and rulesets
Rule resolution and inheritance
Strong experience with:
Pega UI (Cosmos / UI Kit)
Pega integrations and reporting
Proven ability to design complex, multi-team Pega solutions
Expertise in Pega performance tuning, debugging tools, and guardrail compliance
Enterprise Environment Experience
Experience delivering solutions in large-scale, regulated, or mission-critical environments
Strong understanding of architectural tradeoffs in enterprise platforms
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience in banking, financial services, or insurance environments
Exposure to high-volume, transaction-oriented workflows
Experience with:
Pega Customer Service
Pega Platform upgrades
Cloud-hosted Pega (Pega Cloud / AWS)
Integration experience with legacy systems and modern APIs
Familiarity with Agile / SAFe delivery models
