Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst will have a solid grounding in accounting, finance and general business concepts, with superior analytical skills, strong work ethic, good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of success. Responsibilities will include detailed financial analysis, management reporting (internally and to the parent company) and managing various process improvement initiatives within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the review of Large Contract Revenue Recognition Checklists to ensure compliance with IFRS 15 and CSI’s Revenue Polices
Assist in the review of New Acquisition Revenue Recognition Checklists to ensure compliance with IFRS 15 and CSI’s Revenue Polices
Assist in the review of Business Combination accounting (Purchase Price Allocations) to ensure compliance with CSI’s Accounting Polices and IFRS 3
Identify, design and implement process improvements where needed
Assist with quarter-end and year-end close process, including preparing reports/templates in advance of the quarter and assisting in consolidation work and various note disclosures (e.g., IFRS 16)
Assist with various quarterly internal financial analysis and reporting to leadership on results, forecasts and performance metrics
Assist in project management of the external auditor process.
Build excellent relationships with Volaris Corporate Finance Team and Portfolio Finance Teams and proactively manage these relationships to ensure continuous feedback is obtained and acted upon.
Perform other ad-hoc special projects/operational analysis as they arise.
Education and Experience:
Completed the CA/CPA/ACCA/CIA designation.
Has ‘Big 4’ Public Accounting experience
4-5 years in finance and accounting
Experience with software company accounting, either through audit clients or working for a SW company.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications under IFRS. Meaningful experience with: IFRS 15, IFRS 16, and IFRS 3
Proficient in OneStream or BPC systems is a bonus
Effective oral, written and business communication skills
Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and/or in a team
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines independently
Ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment
Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and proactively identify, review, and implement process improvements.
